SolaVieve Technologies GmbH (referred to as “SolaVieve”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is the “data controller” for all Personal Data, including cookies, that are collected and used on our customers (referred to as “User”, „you”, „your” or „Data subject(s)”). For details, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
What are cookies?
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your computer or mobile device when you visit the site.
- First party cookies are cookies set by the website you’re visiting. Only that website can read them. In addition, a website might potentially use external services (from third party websites), which also set their own cookies, known as third-party cookies.
- Persistent cookies are cookies saved on your computer and that are not deleted automatically when you close your browser, unlike a session cookie, which is deleted when you quit your browser. Usually you need to erase persistent cookies manually.
Every time you visit the SolaVieve website or its affiliated platforms, you will be presented with a choice on the cookie banner to accept or refuse cookies. Please note that even if you choose to accept all cookies in your first visit to our site, you can still freely change your preference in Privacy Settings anytime as you want.
The purpose of placing cookies is to enable the site to remember your preferences (such as username, language, etc.) for a certain period.
That way, you don’t have to re-enter them when browsing around the site during the same visit.
Cookies can also be used to establish anonymised statistics about the browsing experience on our sites so that we can improve our services and make them more user-friendly.
Users can also freely choose to opt in or opt out some cookies separately or all cookies at once in our Privacy Settings, which can be done according to the legal basis or the purposes of the cookies placed. Functional cookies are always active by default as they are strictly necessary for proper functioning of our site, but you can also opt out them in your Privacy Settings. In case of third party cookies, users can freely choose to opt in or opt out cookies from a specific partnering network. Please be reminded that we use both consent and legitimate interest pursuant to Art 6(a) and (f) GDPR as legal bases for collecting data through cookies and further processing.
How do we use cookies?
We mostly use “first-party cookies” that are placed and controlled by us instead of external organisation(s).
However, to view some of our pages which cannot operate properly without third party technical support, you will have to accept cookies from external organisations, but you can still freely choose whether to accept third party cookies or not .
The 4 types of first-party cookie we use are to:
- store user’s preferences such as language preference (Preferential cookies)
- make our websites operational (Operational or strictly necessary cookies)
- gather analytics data based on user’s behaviour (Analytical cookies)
- show advertising that is likely to be of interest to users based on their browsing habits (advertising cookies)
Preferential cookies
These are set by us and only we can read them. They remember:
- if you have agreed to (or refused) this site’s cookie policy
- if you have already replied to our survey pop-up (about how helpful the site content was) – so you won’t be asked again.
